Shaun Brewer Returns

Gear up! Shaun Brewer, your favorite organic chemist, will be making a return to /r/nosleep at the end of March for a new series!

This time, Shaun will be participating in researching the affects climate change has on the penguin breeding cycle in Antarctica. The new series does not continue the story of "The Eos", but rather puts our familiar character in the path of new danger at McMurdo Station.

The story requires extensive research to ensure authenticity, and as with all of my series the first part will not be posted until the whole story has been written. As such, I will not have any other stories posted until late March.

I'm aiming for March 30th to post part 1. I'll have an official release date for part 1 along with all corresponding parts when the story is ready to go or nearing completion.

Here's a small teaser for you all until more details are available:

King Solomon

There will be an upcoming story posted this week to nosleep that features elements of King Solomon, the biblical figure in Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Solomon, son of David, was a wise and wealthy prophet that assumed power over Israel from 970 to 931 B.C.

The Book of Kings tells the story of how Solomon rose to power, and how the kingdom of the United Monarchy split after his death.

The more interesting element that's not always told is how Solomon captured 72 demons and angels. Evoking these captured spirits became known as Goetia.

My upcoming story is contemporaneously parallel to Solomon and his 72 demons. While these details are left out of the story, not directly mentioned and it's not exactly a retelling of Solomon, reading about them provides valuable background.

One demon, Prince Sitri (portrayed in my story as a female police officer named Pam) was said to have a strong control over relationships between people and had the capability to make any man or woman lust after one another. He reigned over sixty legions of demons, had the head of a leopard and wings of a griffon but was capable of taking the human shape of a man.

Look for "I accidentally started a cult" on nosleep Friday morning to read my story!

I'll have a new story on /r/nosleep this week. It's about poker and topless women and licking empty eye sockets and firetrucks and Pokemon. Okay I'm lying, but there is poker in it. I played a lot of poker back in college, so making a story about it seemed fitting. It's not a series, though, which is my usual repertoire. Most of my time is being dedicated to something else...

Thanks to the inspiring words in response to my last story "The Eos", I decided to do, uh, well, nothing special:

I'll have more details posted about a full novel divulging further into the secrets of The Eos when they become more concrete. I hope nobody minds me blocking out the details of each chapter. I don't want to spoil any of the plot!

Based on the schedule I set for myself, optimistically the first draft should be ready towards the end of summer, although more realistically it'll be in the middle of fall.

Get ready for blood!
